CANTON, OH (Crime Library)  — Despite assurances over the last few days that he was not a suspect in the disappearance of his girlfriend, Jessie Marie Davis, 26, authorities yesterday read Bobby Cutts, Jr., 30, his Miranda rights and conducted at least two searches of his home.

At about 3:30 p.m. yesterday, Stark County Common Pleas Judge Richard Reinbold signed a search warrant authorizing investigators to search Cutts' home.  Directly thereafter, officers with the Stark County Sheriffs Department, with assistance from the FBI, descended upon on Cutts' Ayrshire Avenue residence.

According to the Canton Repository, Cutts' mother, Renee Horne, told them investigators were searching for a quilt and cell phone belonging to Jessie that were missing from her residence.  While it is not yet clear what investigators removed from the home, local media is reporting that several files and at least three black plastic bags were removed from Cutts' home during the search, which lasted nearly five hours.

According to sources close to the investigation, Cutts has been unable to provide authorities with a solid alibi for his whereabouts from the time Jessie's mother last spoke with her until the following morning.
