Acclaimed rapper and How High actor Method Man, born Clifford Smith, was arrested in May 2007 after he was pulled over in New York for having an expired inspection sticker. When the police officer approached his vehicle, he reportedly detected a strong odor of marijuana, and discovered roughly an ounce of the drug in plain view. The rapper, who played gambling drug trade liaison Calvin "Cheese" Wagstaff on The Wire, was charged with possession, operating a vehicle under the influence, and driving an uninspected vehicle. As part of a plea deal, Smith was ordered to visit 15 high schools in New York City to speak about the dangers of drugs.
