Desiree Fontaine, who reports the morning traffic and hosts the "Connecticut Style" segment on New Haven's WTNH, was arrested on June 18, 2011, for alleged shoplifting at Sears in Milford. Surveillance footage shows Fontaine trying on jewelry while talking on her phone and then leaving the store; she is accused of stealing a bottle of perfume, as well as jewelry and a men's shirt amounting in $104.88 worth of merchandise. Fontaine reportedly claimed that the shoplifting was part of a freelance news assignment she was working on, but police dismissed the claim and charged her with one count of misdemeanor larceny.
