Kansas City - The defense attorney for Terry Blair, who was accused of killing eight women and raping three in 2003 and 2004, said that the judge should throw the case out of court. Police have either lost or withheld evidence, says Cynthia Dryden, hampering her case. Because of that, the judge should delay the October 1 trial, throw out the case, or prohibit the prosecution from seeking the death penalty. The evidence that's missing, according to the Kansas City Star, includes a surveillance video sent for enhancement to the FBI. Allegedly it recorded a man dumping the body of one of the victims. In addition, an FBI agent developed a profile of the case, but the attorney had not yet seen it.

The most unusual aspect of this case is that the police allowed a television show, "The First 48" to film their seven-hour interrogation of Blair, but did not videotape the interrogation themselves or ask for raw footage. Either that or they're refusing to turn over to the defense what they have.
India - The police received a tip that led to the arrest of Razak Mohammedsab, an associate of serial killer Bhagappa Harijan. Allegedly, he was involved in the murder of four people in December 2003. Someone had killed his elder brother and he had vowed revenge. He apparently learned who the culprits were and began picking them off. In January 2004, he was then involved in a fifth murder. The police have also arrested Bhagappa Harijan, an associate of another notorious killer Chandappa Harijan.
