Sarah Wells writes bluemerle.blogspot.com she touched on several of the entries already mentioned in this article, and added a new link, to a blogger writing under the pseudonym Leemur, a blogger writing under a pseudonym at lifeofleemur.blogspot.com. Leemur knew Kathryn Harvey:

"I am completely in shock...two friends and their two sweet daughters were brutally murdered in their home yesterday...New Year's Day 2006. They have an annual party...people came...they found cops and firemen, police tape and death. This is unimaginable, horrific. I have cried most of the day. I have no idea what to do. Everybody is trying to comfort one another...It's on the news, in the paper...Kathy was one of those really sweet good people that you don't meet often enough..."

The Harveys, Bryan and Kathryn, touched more lives than they probably ever knew. Even people who only knew them in passing wrote out their sense of loss and grief in weblogs.

As always happens with major crimes, gossip was being passed around the internet, as well on a message board devoted to discussions between members of the music industry, a thread was begun to memorialize Bryan Harvey and his family. Quickly it was brought in that one of the Harveys had an "estranged" sibling who was involved in drugs, and that Bryan and Kathryn Harvey may have been trying to help this sibling out of an involvement they had with a drug-dealer. This possibility also surfaced in a weblog entry by fellow crimelibrary.com contributor and blogger, Dan Riehl. However, Richmond Police have yet to make any mention of this. At the moment, the murder of the couple and their children is most universally acknowledged by those publishing their personal writing on the web as being one thing, for sure completely inexplicable, and horrifying.

Further coverage of the murder of the Harvey Family by Court TV's  crimelibrary.com can be found here, an article written January 2, by Seamus McGraw. McGraw discusses in his piece how the Harveys had a reputation for neighborliness, for reaching out. The idea that perhaps reaching out to someone may have brought death to their door on the first day of January, 2006 only brings home the true depth of this tragedy.
