Police believe Coon's intended targets were his teachers, one of whom was shot in the back and another was shot in the chest. According to police, both are in stable condition.

"We don't have any specific motives at this time," Police Chief Michael McGrath told a press conference. "We do know the shooter had some disciplinary problems," he added.

The schools video surveillance system captured the entire ordeal, including Coon's suicide.

"It appears the shooter went into a classroom, looked out the window, and shot himself," McGrath said. "There were no plans or notes on the body of the shooter, that we know of."

Charles Blackwell, president of SuccessTech's student-parent organization, said it is not yet clear how Coon entered the building, stating that metal detectors are located at the front door. However, after the shooting, students told reporters that the metal detectors were only intermittently used.

The shooting at SuccessTech comes just six months after the Virginia Tech massacre, in which a student gunman killed 32 people before taking his own life.
