BURLINGTON, VT —In the meantime, authorities have remained mum about their probe into Michelle's slaying. Though an autopsy was completed on the young woman's remains, authorities have not yet released the details of that report. Last week, however, Crime Library learned that authorities had found a spot of blood on Rooney's jeans and had found through DNA testing that it almost certainly was Michelle's. Sleigh later confirmed that report to The Associated Press.

And investigators also have evidence that Rooney was with Michelle in the moments before she vanished. He had lent her his cell phone, authorities said, and was videotaped walking with her toward her dormitory in the early morning hours of Oct. 7.

So far, however, they have not charged him in connection with her death and have released no details about the case since Oct. 16.

That could change, however. Burlington Police have tentatively scheduled a press conference for Thursday, though they would release no details about what they planned to discuss.
