BURLINGTON, Vt. (Crime Library) — It's been nearly a week since Michelle Gardner-Quinn, a 21-year-old University of Vermont co-ed walked past a surveillance camera accompanied by an unnamed man after a spending an evening celebrating with friends and authorities are still trying to piece together a detailed timeline of her movements in those last few moments before she mysteriously vanished.

On Thursday, authorities released surveillance photos of Michelle and the man, a man whom they described not as a suspect in her disappearance but as "a significant focus," of their probe into her fate and on Friday, they released photographs of his car, a red Jeep Grand Cherokee with gray trim and black paint on its tailgate and Vermont plates. Although police have located the car, they are hoping that witnesses can help them track the Jeep's movements on the night Michelle vanished.
Authorities have interviewed the man, whose name they have declined to release, but were apparently not satisfied with his statement and have asked anyone who may have seen Michelle and the man together to contact Burlington police at (802) 658-2700.
Authorities have also released photographs taken moments later of other pedestrians walking along the same stretch of Burlington's Main Street. "These persons are not sought as suspects in the case but police would like to identify and interview them to ascertain if they have information pertinent to the investigation."

While authorities have not identified the man seen walking with Michelle as a suspect, they have acknowledged it was his cell phone that Michelle used after leaving her friends earlier on the morning of Oct. 7.
