PENNSYLVANIA COURTHOUSE  — The Pennsylvania Supreme Court has upheld John C. Eichinger's convictions on four first-degree murder charges and also the sentences he received.  In 1999, Eichinger murdered Jennifer Still in her Bridgeport apartment.  Six years later, Eichinger killed Heather Greaves, 27, Lisa Greaves, 23, and Avery Johnson, 3, at the Greaves home in King of Prussia.  In 2005, Eichinger received a life sentence for Still's killing, and the death sentence for the other three murders.  Eichinger has now exhausted his appeals and his execution will proceed as scheduled.

EDENBURG, South Africa  — Police are assembling a task force to investigate the recent murders of two schoolboys.  Moeketsi Makolodisa, 12, and Thapelo Morake, 13, both went missing in December 2006.  On January 5, Moeketsi's decomposed remains were found in a sewage pipe.  Earlier this week, Thapelo's skeletal remains were found in Dirk Meiring Park.  Authorities are now trying to determine if a serial killer is responsible for the murders.  Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stop at 086-001-0111.

MUMBAI, INDIA — A body was found near Charni Road railway station today.  Authorities found a single beer can at the scene; a serial killer signature police thought they would never see again, especially since they thought they had the killer behind bars.  On Feb. 19, Ravindra Kantrole confessed to being the "beer-can killer" after being injected with sodium penthanol.  Police are trying to determine if this latest victim is related to those murders.  If there is a link, police may have to consider reviewing their department's current tactics.

BOWLING GREEN, Fla. — Convicted serial killer Edward A. Surratt, has confessed to committing four murders in Beaver Township, South Carolina, in the late 1970s and another murder in Findley Township, Pennsylvania, in 1977.  Surratt has been in a Florida prison since 1978 on burglary and sexual-battery convictions.  His confessions came after authorities agreed not to press additional charges.  They also agreed to move him to better accommodations in South Carolina, where he has two life terms waiting for him, for killing a 66-year-old man and beating and raping the man's wife.  Authorities in Pennsylvania consider Surratt a suspect in at least 18 unsolved murders.

VALLEJO, Cali. — Authorities have ordered DNA tests on three envelopes that were evidence in the Zodiac murders.  "With the development of improved forensic methods with DNA evidence and comparison databases, we are hoping the examination yields new results, Vallejo Police Department spokesman Lt. Rick Nichelman said in an interview with CBS-5.com.  "The case has been given priority, but we currently have no timetable for the release of any new findings."  According to Nichelman, his department should have the results back in about three weeks. 

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Prosecutors say they will seek the death penalty against Robert F. Smallwood.  According to court documents, Smallwood is accused of committing three murders from 1999 to 2006.  He is also charged in the 1993 rape of an 83-year-old retired schoolteacher.  In addition to multiple counts of murder, Smallwood is charged with burglary, robbery, sodomy and being a persistent felony offender.  Smallwood's next court appearance is scheduled for May 29.
