New Westminster, British Columbia— After ten months of testimony and one week of deliberations, a jury of seven men and five women have found accused serial killer Robert Pickton, 58, guilty on six counts of second-degree murder, in the deaths of Sereena Abotsway, 29; Mona Wilson, 26; Andrea Joesbury, 22; Brenda Wolfe, 30; Georgina Papin, 34, and Marnie Frey, 23. Pickton kept his head down while the verdicts were read and never made eye contact with the jury.

New Westminster, British Columbia — Justice James Williams has sentenced convicted serial killer Robert Pickton, 58, to life in prison with no parole eligibility for 25 years, for his conviction on six counts of second-degree murder, in the deaths of Sereena Abotsway, 29; Mona Wilson, 26; Andrea Joesbury, 22; Brenda Wolfe, 30; Georgina Papin, 34, and Marnie Frey, 23. Pickton will now be tried on an additional 20 counts of murder.

BEIJING, China— The Ministry of Public Security has issued a warrant for the arrest of 39-year-old Liu Renfeng, a man police say has murdered at least five people since 2000. Renfeng is also suspected of stealing a total of $28,000 from several resident of China's Jilin Province, in 2003. A reward, in the amount of $6,667 is being offered for information leading to Liu Renfeng's capture.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO — Earlier this week, Timothy Krajcir, 63, was sentenced to 40 years in prison for the 1982 murder of 23-year-old Deborah Sheppard, a Southern Illinois University student. Police now say Krajcir has confessed to killing five other women from Missouri — Mary and Brenda Parsh, Sheila Cole, Margie Call and Mildred Wallace — and three other unnamed women in undisclosed locations. Krajcir is no stranger to the criminal justice system, having served time in 1963, for a rape and sex attack. More recently he was incarcerated in Illinois prisons for raping three women. Earlier this year police used DNA evidence to link Krajcir to Deborah Sheppard's murder. Following his arrest in that case, Krajcir told police he would provide details on the other crimes if prosecutors would agree not to seek the death penalty against him. After conferring with the victim's families, prosecutors agreed to the deal, resulting in Krajcir's alleged confessions.

Paul Durousseau

JACKSONVILLE, FL— Judge Jack Schemer has formally sentenced suspected serial killer Paul Durousseau, 36, to death by lethal injection in the 1999 rape, robbery, and murder of Tyresa Mack, 24. "This was a consciously hideous crime," Schemer said from the bench. "Durousseau is manipulative, devious and crafty." In November, prosecutors dropped five murder charges against Durousseau because of concerns about how an appeal would jeopardize the cases and his previous conviction. How the cases and previous conviction relate is not immediately clear. Despite that decision, Durousseau will still go to trial for the 1997 murder of Tracy Habersham.

Rose West

LONDON, England — According to sources at Middlesex prison, convicted serial killer Rose West, 52, is demanding an autopsy be conducted on her two-year-old pet guinea pig. West believes the animal was poisoned by other inmates of the prison and wants them held accountable for the animal's death. The Ministry of Justice has yet to comment on whether they are considering her request.
