DICKINSON, Tex. (Crime Library) —Last Friday I brought you the story of Terressa L. Vanegas, a 16-year-old girl from Bayview, Texas, who was murdered sometime between October 31st and November 3rd.  Since my initial report, I have learned several new details regarding the night Terressa disappeared.

After school let out on October 31st, Terressa hung out with one of her best friends for several hours, before heading out to meet another friend who lived off of California Street in Dickinson.  As the night progressed, Terressa asked several people if she could get a ride to Abilene, Texas.  She wanted to go there so she could meet a 19-year-old man named Ambroso, whom she had met through the Internet website Dope House Records.  Abilene is more than 300 miles from the Houston area.  "She had her mind set on it," said one source.  "There was no talking her out of it."

Around 10:00 p.m., Terressa phoned Ambroso and told him she was having difficulty finding a ride.  I managed to get in touch with Ambroso again late last night and this time he was a little more forthcoming with the details of their telephone conversation.

"SHE SAID SHE WOULD KEEP TRYING AND SEE IF HER FRIEND WOULD BRING HER.  SHE JUST TALKED ABOUT BUYING A MAP AND FINDING A RIDE DOWN HERE. THEN THE PHONE DIED."

Interestingly enough, when I asked Ambroso if he had talked to the police yet, his response was:

"NO I HAVENT BUT ITZ [sic] BAD ENOUGH I AM TALKING TO YOU I HATE COPZ [sic]."

One would think the authorities would be interested in speaking with everyone she had contact with that night.
