STEWARTSTOWN, NH (Crime Library) — The New Hampshire Attorney General's Office released a statement yesterday at 3:58 p.m., announcing that a body recovered from a shallow grave in Stewartstown this past weekend had been positively identified as 30-year-old Kelly Gorham. According to Unionleader.com, the property where the body was found — located approximately 162 miles from Kelly's apartment — belongs to the father of her former fiancé Jason Twardus, 26.
"As a result of the investigative efforts, the New Hampshire and Maine State Police searched some private property in Stewartstown, New Hampshire, on September 1 and 2, 2007," the press release stated. "During those searches, a body was discovered in a grave on the property. This morning, that body was positively identified as that of Kelly Gorham."

According to New Hampshire State Police Colonel Frederick H. Booth, an autopsy was conducted on Kelly's body on Tuesday, at which time Thomas A. Andrew, New Hampshire's Chief Medical Examiner, determined that Kelly was the victim of a homicide. An exact cause of death is not yet known.
Kelly was last seen on August 7 getting into a small red car in front of her apartment, which is just off Route 202 in Alfred. When Kelly failed to show up the next day for work at Maine Medical Center in Portland, a co-worker called the police and reported her missing. Since that time, the authorities have allegedly been focusing their investigation on Twardus. He was questioned on at least four occasions at Troop A headquarters of the Maine State Police.
