Wells said his family would continue to try clearing Brian's name.  For the last three years John has maintained the website Brianwells.net, which he uses to proclaim his brothers innocence.

Diehl-Armstrong is a former Erie school teacher who is currently serving a 7 to 20 year prison sentence for the murder of her boyfriend, James D. Roden, 45.  Barnes is also behind bars for trafficking cocaine in an unrelated case.  He has been described as a former fishing buddy of Wells.

According to Diehl-Armstrong's attorney, Lawrence D'Ambrosio, his client was not involved in the robbery.  While he admits she was acquainted with some of the alleged suspects, he told The Associated Press that she did not personally know Wells and that she did not plan his death.

Federal prosecutors in Erie will try the case.
