Bad blood, then bloodshed?

In fact, according to published reports, there is a history of bad blood between Mack and Weller, a divorce lawyer and former radio pundit who was elected to serve on the family court in 2004. Like many family court judges, who preside over some of the most volatile and emotionally charged disputes, and in the process must often make heart-wrenching decisions over child custody and marital assets, Weller had made his share of enemies.

Postings on various Web sites have derided the judge as a martinet and a bully, though others have described him as a tough but fair-minded judge.

Mack, by all accounts, was among those hostile to Weller. Several weeks ago, Mack and a friend approached KRNV-TV anchor Shelby Sheehan and provided her with documents that he claimed proved that Weller was neither impartial nor fair, and Mack also alleged that the jurist gave favorable treatment to lawyers who contributed to his campaign fund.

The Associated Press quoted Sheehan as saying that Mack appeared at the time to be "very nice, very pleasant, very calm and seemed like an intelligent man." But there have also been reports that Mack felt that he had suffered financially and emotionally through his divorce and authorities suspect he may have blamed Weller for his misfortune.
