Also on Monday, Chief Neil J. Harkins of the Manheim Township Police Department held a press conference to brief the media on the crimes.

"The suspect is out in the community somewhere," Harkins said.  "We need to appeal to the community.  Someone knows something about this crime, whether it's about a member of the Haines family or the individual who committed the crimes."

According to Harkins, his department has found no evidence linking Maggie Haines to the crimes.  He described her as cooperative but in the same breath said he was "open to all possibilities."

Earlier this week, police canines were brought in to assist in the search for the killer as helicopters combed the area from up above.  Police are not saying what, if anything, they found; however, they have said that the FBI has been called in to assist in the investigation.

"This has been a top priority since Saturday morning," Totaro told the Intelligencer Journal Tuesday.  "We will spare no expense, manpower, or resources."
