As far as Kevin goes, I have nothing to say to him. I have no questions for him, because I believe he won't have any answers for me. I don't want to see him again, and I don't want to be involved with the court proceedings. He will get what he deserves for the crime he committed.

Kevin Ray Underwood, age 26, was arrested April 14, 2006 for the April 12, 2006 murder of his 10-year-old neighbor, Jamie Rose Bolin. Underwood was accused of beating Jamie with a wooden cutting board, then asphyxiating the little girl with his hands and duct tape. Underwood had probably been planning this crime for more than a year, according to authorities in Purcell, Oklahoma (OK), the small town where this all occurred.

Both the gruesome nature of Underwood's alleged crime, as well as the even more horrific acts he was said to have planned were major news, at least briefly. Authorities in Purcell believe Underwood, after murdering Jamie Rose and then molesting her remains, intended to dismember her body and eat portions of it before disposing of everything that was left. A peculiarly 21st century wrinkle was added to the story with the discovery of Kevin Underwood's extensive online writings.

At http://futureworldruler.blogspot.com Underwood had archives of weblog entries dating back to 2002. In 2004 he'd briefly kept another weblog as part of an attempt to teach himself Japanese at http://speakjapanese.blogspot.com. As far back as 1999, Underwood was publishing strange short stories on the worldwide web under the screen name "psycomind" on free webpages built through Yahoo Geocities. On MySpace.com, the incredibly popular personal networking and blogging domain, Underwood went by SubSpecies23 in a recently-published profile, and he'd used that same screen name in a more recent set of Geocities pages.
