ALLENDALE, S.C.  (Crime Library)  Erica Bradley has been missing since November 6, 2006, and investigators still have no leads in the 17-year-old's disappearance.  Erica's friends and family members say Derek Maner, 18, her boyfriend and father of her of her nine-month-old son, is responsible for her disappearance.  The Allendale County Sheriff's Department admits he is their prime suspect but says they do not have enough evidence to arrest him.

According to police documents, Erica was last seen at the Hardee's in downtown Allendale where she works.  She allegedly had an argument with her boyfriend, whereupon she accused him of cheating on her with another woman.  The events following the argument are not clear, and Maner's own statements are all police have to go on.

During questioning, Maner told investigators he was driving Erica to meet with the girl with whom she accused him of having an affair in order to prove his innocence, when Erica suddenly and unexpectedly jumped out of his car and ran into the woods.  Maner said he stopped the car and looked for her, but was unable to find her.  He assumed she was going to make her way home, so he drove off and left her.  Erica did not live with her parents, and Maner waited two days to tell them their daughter was missing.
