At one point, the family asked Tim Miller with Texas EquuSearch to help in the investigation, but when he approached the Austin Police Department, he was turned away.

"Unfortunately, he (the investigating officer) was not real forthcoming with information," Miller said.  "He stated that there is a search and rescue organization in the Travis county area that he feels has done everything possible to search areas of interest.  His exact words to me were, 'I don't think there is anything here for you all to do.'"

According to a spokesperson with the Austin Police Department, their agency is "doing everything possible to find Roxanne."  Recently, a new investigator was assigned to the case.  A new set of eyes may well be the ticket to new information.

Roxanne's mother has taken to the streets dozens of times over the past seven months, questioning people and posting flyers, doing everything she can to locate her daughter.  Roxanne's 19th birthday has come and gone, and yesterday, her family missed her for another special occasion.

"Today is the Super Bowl," her mother said.  "She would usually be here yelling and barbequing.  She was the life of the party.  She loved it.  I pray for the Lord to give me strength.  We just want her to come home."

Anyone with information about the disappearance of Roxanne Paltauf should contact the Austin Police Department at (512) 974-5250 or the Missing Persons Clearinghouse at (512) 424-5074.
