At 5:00 p.m., the Kesses plan to attend a special service in Jennifer's honor at the First Baptist Church of Orlando on John Young Parkway. The church will also host an all-day prayer vigil for anyone who wants to stop by and say a prayer for Jennifer.
Like any parents, Drew and Joyce are desperate to know what happened to their daughter, but they are also realists. After a year they know the odds that Jennifer is still alive are not good, but they have not given up hope.

"We are still very, very hopeful that we will find what has happened to Jennifer," Drew Kesse said last week. "If we find her alive it will be a miracle."
If she is not alive, Drew said, they want to give their daughter a proper funeral. They want to say goodbye.
Jennifer disappeared sometime between 10 p.m., Monday, Jan. 23, and 8:00 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2006.
On that Monday night, Jennifer spoke by telephone with her father, her brother, and later with her boyfriend, who lived 200 miles away in Ft. Lauderdale.

"Her boyfriend was the last one to speak to her, at 10:00 p.m.," Drew Kesse said. "He was in Ft. Lauderdale. He's not a suspect."
The next morning when Jennifer, who was known as a responsible and punctual employee, didn't show up at the investment firm where she worked, her boss called her parents.
"We knew something was wrong," Drew Kesse said.
