The Mysterious Murder of Terressa Vanegas

By David Lohr

(Continued)

I called Ambroso last night and spoke to him for a little bit.  He was not very forthcoming, but did say that Terressa was his girlfriend.  A few hours later I contacted Ambroso through his MySpace profile and exchanged several messages back and forth with him.

His first message was only one sentence long:

"I NEED TO KNOW MORE HER FAMILY DIDNT KNOW BUT WE WHERE [sic] ENGAGED."

Upon receiving that message, I messaged him back and asked how they met and when they got engaged.  He said they had known each other for approximately three months.

"WE TALKED FOR A WHILE IN THE CHAT ROOM AND WE HAD SAME [sic] PROBLEMZ [sic] IN RELATIONSHIPZ [sic] AND I ASKED HER OUT AND SHE SAID YES THEN AFTER AWHILE WE TALKED AND GOT CLOSER AND I ASKED HER TO MARRY ME AND SHE SAID YES. WE HAD JUST GOTN [sic] ENGAGED THREE DAYZ [sic] BEFORE."

He said he spoke with Terressa on Halloween night and that she was supposed to come stay with him.  However when I asked him how she was supposed to get there, he did not give me very many details.

"BYE [sic] SOME LADY THAT SAID SHE WOULD BRING HER BUT SHE NEVER FOUND HER I DIDNT EVEN GET TO SAY I LOVE YOU TO HER."

In my response I asked him what time he spoke with Terressa' on Halloween night.

"I DONT REMEMBER THE TIME AND SHE WAZ [sic] WITH A FRIEND I HAVE TO GO I CANT DO THIS RITE [sic] NOW I AM SORRY."

I sent several other emails to Ambroso after that, but he never replied again.

As of this writing, Terressa L. Vanegas' killer remains at large.  A witness claims to have seen a Caucasian male, with long dark hair exit the area where the body was found early Friday morning, however it is not yet known if that person is connected to the case.  Anyone with information should call the Galveston County Sheriff's Office at (409) 766-2322 or the Dickinson Police Department at (281) 337-0476.
