New Facts Uncovered In John Woodring Investigation -- Exclusive

By David Lohr

(Continued)

In my last story, I covered Woody's actions and the emails he sent Bonnie on September 18th.  I have since learned several new details regarding the actual shooting.  According to a source close to the investigation, both Bonnie and her son were well aware of the commotion Woody made as he forced his way inside the shelter.  Scared for their lives, they both hid in fear.

Once inside, Woody began yelling and allegedly assaulted a female shelter employee, pushing her to the ground.  Scared for the woman's safety, Bonnie ran out from her hiding spot and placed herself between Woody and the woman.  Some words were exchanged and Woody supposedly pulled out a sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun.  Witnesses said he yelled, "you don't want to die, but you're gonna," and then shot Bonnie in the chest at point-blank range.  As Woody fled the scene, Bonnie's 13-year-old son came running out from his hiding spot and held his dying mother in his arms until help arrived.

In addition to the new information I have obtained regarding the shooting, I have also received information that allegedlyBonnie was not Woody's intended target.  According to one of my sources, Woody may have intended to make Bonnie suffer by shooting her son in front of her.
