Jamie Lynn Drake was last seen entering her apartment at 1225 East Westview Court around 11:45 p.m. on June 22, 2006. After that, calls to Jamie's cell phone went unanswered or were forwarded to voice mail.

However, Jamie Lynn Drake's bank records showed that between June 23rd and the 27th, her debit card was used in Spokane, Deer Park, Colville, Ritzville and Marysville Washington, just to name a few locations.

After Jamie Lynn Drake's Mustang was seen in Spokane on several occasions between June 23rd and the 26th, detectives got in touch with a 17-year-old girl named Darien Watts. Watts had only known Kevin Newland for a few months, and from what she could see, he was living a transient lifestyle. Newland had lived with one person or another, different locations, no fixed address of his own.

The morning after Jamie Lynn Drake vanished, Kevin Newland showed up at Darien Watts's home. Darien told police that Kevin brought her breakfast from McDonald's, and they talked about Kevin's "new car," a silver-colored Ford Mustang.

Newland told the girl that he'd bought the car from someone in Kennewick, WA for $3,200.

Darien was to see Kevin again on the 24th of June, and he told her then that he was heading out of Spokane to his hometown of Chewelah, WA to see his father.
