Saturday June 23: Benoit contacts WWE officials and informs them he cannot participate in the "SmackDown" show scheduled for later that evening in Beaumont, Texas.  Benoit states that his wife and child are ill.

Benoit murders his son late Saturday or early Sunday, smothering Daniel in his bed.  As with Nancy, Benoit places a bible next to his son's body.

Sunday June 24: Benoit sends five text messages to co-workers between 3:51 and 3:58 am.  One message reads, "The dogs are in the enclosed pool area.  Garage side door is open."  The other four messages are all the same: "My physical address is 130 Green Meadow Lane, Fayetteville Georgia 30215."

At some point after sending the text messages, Benoit went into a downstairs exercise room and committed suicide.  His body was found hanging from a pulley on one of his weight lifting machines.

Benoit did not leave a suicide note behind, and authorities are still trying to determine what prompted the murder-suicide.
