DAUPHIN COUNTY, PA Prosecutors have filed a motion asking Judge Jeannine Turgeon to step down for the penalty phase of convicted serial killer Joseph D. Miller's trial.  According to District Attorney Fran Chardo, Turgeon should recuse herself because of a statement she made during Miller's trial, in which she claimed she was "less than an impartial fact finder," due to pretrial motions she had heard that contained information about Miller's background.  Turgeon has not yet responded to the motion.

BARBADOS Commissioner of Police Darwin Dottin has announced the formation of a cold case squad to review a series of unsolved murders that occurred in the region between March 1973 and June 1982, dubbed "the canefield murders".  The victims, identified as Golda Dash, 17, Cheryl McCollin, 15, Margaret Turton and Sandra Robinson, 23, and Janet Smith, were all brutally murdered and their bodies dumped in canefields.  Investigators are hoping they might discover some previously overlooked clues that could lead them to the serial killer responsible for the murders.

CRIME LIBRARY — Hadden Clark: A study in true evil.  Author Adrian Havill takes some highlights from his recent book on Clark for this chilling feature story.  A Washington, D.C. area psychologist took pity on this homeless man and hired him as a gardener.  Her kindness cost the life of her beautiful, brilliant daughter who was home on vacation from Harvard.  But this was just one of his many serial murders, beginning with a six-year-old girl who he murdered to get revenge on his young niece for calling him a name.
