Investigators recently uncovered information that led them to suspect Danielle had been the victim of foul play.  What they found has not yet been released, but investigators have said the information was used in obtaining the warrant to search Gault's house.

"Lieutenant, you better get in here," the investigator cried out when he opened the hidden door behind the dresser.  To everyone's amazement, Danielle, now 15, was sitting behind the door inside a small room, approximately 3 feet high and 5 feet deep.  She was alive, although obviously traumatized.  She was visibly shaking and crying when she looked up at her rescuers.

Following the girl's discovery, police arrested Gault, Murphy and a third woman who lived at the house, 26-year-old Kimberly Cray.  Gault was charged with second-degree unlawful restraint, second-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree custodial interference, interfering with an officer, risk of injury to a minor and second-degree forgery.

Murphy and Cray were charged with conspiracy to commit second-degree reckless endangerment, conspiracy to commit second-degree custodial interference and risk of injury to a minor.

Police say there was also a 15-year-old boy living at Gault's house.  It is not clear whose child he is or what connection he has to this case.  Authorities have turned the teen over to the Connecticut Department of Children and Families.
