By Steve Huff

Ashley Barker's final March 12, 2006 login on her IMVU account was just 6 days after her last MySpace login. She had messages afterwards from various friends, again, many from Tiffany, who was Ashley's roommate as late as December, 2005, based on captions Ashley added to some of her online photos.

For avatars, Ashley Barker favored elf-like figures with angel and butterfly wings. The photographs Ashley did have among her images at IMVU.com included shots of her and Tiffany Brigola, as well as a boyfriend, named 'Coby,' not referred to in Ashley's MySpace account.

Before she became the 6th murder victim in the 4th largest city in Louisiana for the year 2006, who Ashley Barker really was could only be guessed at when viewing her web pages. Through the spare prose in a June 18th weblog post made by Ashley's friend Tiffany a glimpse of the real Ashley Barker could perhaps be seen:

"I gave Ashley Barker her first bartending job. I hired her because she was pretty and friendly. All the other skills fell into place with a little training. I liked her so much and saw a potential in her far beyond tending bar. I took her under my wing, so to speak. She moved in with me and lived with me for many months before venturing out on her own. We spent many nights out on the front porch smoking cigarettes and talking about anything and everything . . .

"[Ashley] had many plans. She wanted to go to college. She wanted to be a special education teacher, spending her day with children who had special needs. She wanted to get married. She wanted to have children. She wanted to live in a big, Cajun-style house with a porch on every . . . she wanted her house to have columns. She loved to shop. Her favorite clothing store was Rue 21. She absolutely adored the color pink, and she liked polka dots, too. She started a diet and stuck to it. She didn't like working out, but she did it occasionally anyway. She liked tanning, though, and did that a lot. She loved her family and did the best she could to take care of her mother and brothers. She was generous. She was beautiful.

She was nineteen. . ."
