Tiffany Brigola was one of Ashley Barker's best friends. Photos of Tiffany's child took pride of place on Ashley's own MySpace photo album.

It was in Brigola's MySpace weblog that compelling words about Ashley Barker could be read. Tiffany Brigola, an English teacher, expressed the shock she felt:

"I received a call earlier from [Ashley's] new roommate. Ashley was murdered last night . . . The coroner said that there was evidence of a struggle, and I believe that. Ashley was [feisty]. She definitely was the type to go down fighting . . . After the phone call, I [received] many others from friends of hers who wanted to know if the news was true. It's . . . still somewhat unbelievable to me. I think I may still be in shock. I know the emotions will hit me later, at the memorial service or when I visit her mother. . ."

Ashley Barker was more active in posting to her abarker86 account with IMVU.com.

IMVU.com describes itself thusly:

"IMVU makes the world's best 3D instant messenger . . . The service lets users express themselves by creating and customizing a 3D avatar with a wide variety of clothes, accessories, pets, and scenes. . ."

Ashley had only a handful of photos posted on pages at IMVU.com, other images were 'customized' 3D avatars as described on IMVU's 'about' page. Ashley Barker chose hot pink as the background color for her profile page, and her avatar was a winsome brunette with gray eyes.
