Sacramento, Ca. (Crime Library) — On May 17, 2006, Placer County, California (CA) Sheriff deputies discovered Jeremy Scott Albrecht's white 1989 Chevy van (CA 2NSD087) near the Foresthill Bridge and Interstate 80. The van wasn't locked, and the keys were still inside, along with Jeremy's cell phone. Investigators searched the Canyon floor beneath the bridge and turned up no evidence of Jeremy Albrecht having been there. Nothing suspicious was found inside or near his van.

Acquaintances last saw Jeremy early in the morning on May 15, 2006. He showed up for work at the Sacramento Bee at 2 a.m. on May 17th. His job was to deliver newspapers to stores in Arden, CA area. Jeremy was last known to be wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, and black boots.

Anyone reading a brief media release on the Sacramento County Sheriff's Dept. website about Jeremy would only know that the 6'1", 150 lb. 26-year-old was a night worker for the newspaper. As is the case with every missing person, though, Jeremy Scott Albrecht was much more than a few dry paragraphs in a missing-person's notice.

Jeremy kept a plain MySpace profile at http://www.myspace.com/albrechtart. There Jeremy listed who he'd like to meet:

"Hieronymus Bosch, Salvador Dali, H.R. Giger, M.C. Escher, Alex Grey, Nils Frykdahl, Adam Jones, David Gilmour, and many more..."

Jeremy also linked two other websites: http://www.albrechtart.com, and http://www.yessy.com/albrechtart/index.htm. The first page was his own page, registered in his name, designed to promote his art. The second page was an online art gallery, where artists could post samples of work and the range of prices they might accept for the pieces advertised there.

Jeremy Scott Albrecht's art was surreal, hallucinatory, disturbing.
