A piece featured at his main "albrechtart" site was among the most popular there, titled, "Dream of Phi." It featured a skull on one side of the image and a feminine face in profile on the other. In the center there was what appeared to be a cross-section of a human heart. Above was a field of stars, in their center a swirling galaxy. A hand with an eye in the palm erupted from a fleshy arch over the feminine profile, a clenched fist over the skull. Embossed on a pedestal of sorts beneath the cross-section of the heart was the number known as the golden ratio, or phi, 1.6180333... etc. Phi is a number inherent in the proportions of structures in the natural world, most famously the spirals of seashells.

Artistic inspiration can also be the handmaid to mental illness, particularly bipolar disorder, or manic-depression, as well as depression. Either mental illness can lead to self-destructive, even suicidal behavior. However, Sergeant R. L. Davis of the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office was able to confirm when contacted by the Crime Library that nothing had been found in the canyon below the bridge near where Albrecht's van was found. When asked if suicide had been considered, Sergeant Davis did not seem ready to give a definite answer. He also indicated that investigators did not know if Jeremy Albrecht was carrying money when he disappeared, but they doubted that he was. Newspaper deliverers may sometimes collect payments along their routes, but Albrecht was said to be working drop-offs at commercial destinations, convenience stores and restaurants, perhaps.

Albrecht's friends, if comments on the man's MySpace profile are any indication, have no idea what may have happened to Jeremy. On May 19, 2006, Mark Miguel posted:

"come on man, please don't be gone. come home so i can see you again. i usually see you in like 2 weeks from now. I know its not often, but its something i kinda look forward to, but take for granted."

A friend named Brian posted next:

"Jesus Christ this is scary. Be okay, man."
