Since her death, several of Carly's friends have defended her profile, claiming that it was artistic and not a representation of her character. Last week, a user with the screen name Tiarni contacted me via my MySpace.com profile and expressed her opinion of it.
"People now perceive Carly to be a gothic slut," Tiarni wrote. "She was far from it. She was one of the most wonderful people you could ever meet, and instead of people remembering her for how amazing she was, they think of her as some sort of sex fiend who regularly took drugs and was depressed and disturbed."

On March 8, the 48-year-old father appeared before Adelaide Magistrates Court. He made no application for bail and was ordered to enter a plea on July 6. His son appeared in Adelaide Youth Court and was ordered to enter a plea on June 7. Both men, whose identities have been suppressed by the court, then were remanded in custody.
