By David Lohr

Knox and Sollecito have yet to be formally charged. Judge Matteini recently ruled that there were "serious indications of guilt" and enough evidence in the case to hold them in prison on suspicion of conspiracy to commit manslaughter and conspiracy to commit sexual violence. As an American without diplomatic status, Knox is subject to Italy's local laws. The suspects can be held for up to a year while police continue their investigation.

Guede is scheduled to appear in court Friday, at which time a judge will determine whether prosecutors have enough evidence to keep him in custody.
