CHICAGO, Ill.  (Crime Library) —  Authorities in Chicago are mystified over the disappearance of 20-year-old Jesse Ross.  The University of Missouri sophomore who vanished on Nov. 21, after attending a model United Nations conference at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel, 301 E. North Water St.  The mock conference took place at 2:00 a.m. and was followed by a dance.  Jesse was last seen a half-hour later.  According to friends he was planning to go back to his hotel room at the Four Points Sheraton at 630 N. Rush St.  The two hotels are about a ten-minute walk from one another.  Jesse never made it back to his room and he vanished somewhere along the way.

According to his MySpace profile, Jesse, or "Opie" as friends know him, is an intern at radio station 95.7 The Vibe.  I exchanged messages with one of his co-workers yesterday and was told Jesse was a very likable guy with no enemies.

"We are really tight friends, his internship put him in my studio on day one, just to give him some insight on radio.  From there he went from intern to promotions, to being on the air for our morning show as a side kick, stunt boy, kinda fun guy.  He is hilarious and his humor and his intelligence put him exactly where he wanted to be.

"Jesse never showed any sign of depression, weakness, negativity to any situation at all. I think he was a kid in a candy store being a part of 95.7 the Vibe... I have never heard of anyone mad at him.  I have never heard of anyone here being upset with him.  He is highly liked here."

Some recent reports suggest Jesse was drinking before his disappearance, however surveillance tapes from the Sheraton Chicago Hotel give no indication he was intoxicated and the footage they have show him walking around with a Gatorade bottle.
