HOUMA, La. - Authorities arrested 42-year-old Ronald Joseph Dominique and charged him with two counts of murder.  Investigators suspect he has committed upwards of 23 homicides, dating as far back as 1997.  Dominique's arrest came following allegations from another man, who alleged Dominique tied him up and threatened to kill him.  Upon looking further into his background, authorities found similar reports, which closely resembled nearly two-dozen unsolved murders.  Dominique is being held in the Terrebonne Parish jail.  Crime Library has sent a team of reporters to Houma and will feature breaking news stories about this case.  For more information, please visit the full coverage page at: http://www.crimelibrary.com/serial_killers/predators/houma/index.html

KAMPALA, Africa - In December of last year, Baker Walusimbi, 35, was arrested for the murder of three girls from Kampala.  Buganda Road Court Chief Magistrate Margaret Tibulya heard evidence in the case today and ruled it will now proceed to trial in the High Court.  According to court records, Walusimbi's victims were Maureen Nabbaal, Jacqueline Najjombwe and Maria Katasi.  Walusimbi has allegedly raped dozens of other women and reportable said he would only kill if the victim recognized him.

Robert William Pickton

VANCOUVER, British Columbia - The Crown has announced jury selection will begin on Jan. 8, 2007, in the trial of accused serial killer Robert Pickton.  Charged with the murders of 26 women, Pickton continues to maintain his innocence.  Jury selection is expected to take several weeks to complete.

David Spanbauer

APPLETON, Wis. - A recent unsolved homicide has rekindled memories of serial child killer and rapist David Spanbauer.  According to the Appleton Police Department, the Nov. 15 murder of Connie Boelter, 56, marks the first "stranger-to-stranger homicide" they have seen in 13 years.  Police have no leads and have been unable to link Boelter's death to any of her known associates.  The case has investigators puzzled and has stirred up thoughts of Spanbaur, who was convicted of murdering two young girls and a young Appleton woman in 1994.  Spanbauer was sentenced to three life terms for his crimes.  He died of heart disease in 2002.
