MARIKINA CITY, Philippines Police have arrested Rodelio Condez Jr., 23, for stabbing two people Saturday night. One of the victims, identified as Marvin Silva, a resident of Pasig City, died shortly after the incident. Another man, Ramsey Eraga, remains in serious condition. Investigators say Condez is a suspect in at least 14 stabbings dating back to August of this year. Condez is no stranger to the prison system and recently served an eight-month sentence for a murder he committed in San Juan. Condez denies any involvement in the other cases, claiming police are singling him out because of his prior record. The investigation continues.

REIMS, Northern France — In October, confessed serial killer Michel Fourniret, 63, a.k.a. the "Ogre of the Ardennes," wrote a letter to the courts asking that he be charged in three additional murders, saying, "Their families deserve an explanation." Fourniret also requested that he speak with the victims' parents face to face. "The risk of my premature death or losing my mental faculties means I cannot leave these three affairs by the wayside. They should be added," he wrote. The parents of murdered British student Joanna Parrish, 21, have decided to take Fourniret up on his offer and are making arrangements for the meeting. Joanna's parents hope that Fourniret will be forthcoming with information about their daughter's death. "Fourniret hasn't formally confessed to Joanna's murder, but if we receive any positive information, there could be another trial," her father said in an interview with Mirror.co.uk, adding, "This is obviously something we have waited 17 years for." In 2004, Fourniret allegedly confessed to kidnapping, raping and murdering seven girls between the 1980s and the 1990s.

SOWETAN, South Africa Investigators have found another murdered woman's remains in Kwa-Zulu Natal's sugarcane plantations, bringing the total number of victims found so far to eleven. "The body was found after the sugar cane was burnt," Police spokesman Superintendent Zandra Hechter told Thetimes.co.za. "The workers stumbled on the partially burnt and decomposed body while walking through the field. We know the identity of the victim but this information will not be released until DNA testing has confirmed it." Postmortem exams suggest the first five victims were strangled and possibly raped. Three suspects were initially arrested in connection with the murders, but charges against one of those individuals have since been withdrawn. The remaining suspects have since been identified as Thozamile Taki and Hlengiwe Nene. Both men are scheduled to appear in court on November 27. Police are still trying to determine whether a link exists between these murders and the murders of two other women whose bodies were found at the Majola Tea Plantation in April. A team of investigators and forensic experts are examining the cases.

LONDON Police investigating the 1991 disappearance of a teenage girl have announced the discovery of skeletal remains in the back garden of a home that was once occupied by convicted sex offender and killer Peter Britton Tobin, 61, in the town of Margate. Forensic teams using Geophysics equipment to identify areas where the ground had been disturbed discovered the remains after an exhaustive 12-hour search of the back yard of Tobin's former residence. Essex Police would not reveal what prompted the search of the property; however, they did acknowledge that the current occupants were not linked to the investigation. Paul Durousseau

JACKSONVILLE, FLProsecutors have dropped five murder charges against suspected serial killer Paul Durousseau, 36, because of concerns about how an appeal would jeopardize the cases and his previous conviction. How the cases and previous conviction relate is not immediately clear. Despite this decision, Durousseau will still go to trial for the 1997 murder of Tracy Habersham. In June, Durousseau was found guilty in the 1999 rape, robbery, and murder of Tyresa Mack, 24. The following month, a jury of seven women and five men recommended the death penalty; however, he has yet to be formally sentenced.

HOUSTON, TX Police are investigating whether a string of unsolved murders could be linked to a single serial killer. Since early 2006, seven women, all prostitutes, have been found dead near churches in the same neighborhood. "These girls are working late at night. No one's out there. There are no witnesses," Lt. Ron Walker said in an interview with the Associated Press. "They get into a car with a man they don't know and they end up in a ditch." Police say two of the victims were stabbed to death, two were strangled and in the other three cases a cause of death is undetermined. Homicide detectives are working 18-hour days to solve the murders. To date, no suspects have been named
