Teen's lawyer challenges eyewitness account

Canady's attorney, Vito Castignoli, has challenged Campbell's account of the events, noting that the young teen waited two years before he discussed the case with police. During closing arguments Tuesday, Castignoli also reminded jurors that no blood was ever found on Canady's clothing linking him to the crime.

But Campbell was not the only witness to testify against Canady. Last week, Shanette Hargrove, a cousin of Canady's, told the jury that he had confessed to her, saying, "Cuz, I think I killed someone." Pressed, Canady told his cousin that he had kicked the woman in the face and believed she had died.

Canady is facing charges of felony murder, first-degree manslaughter and first-degree robbery.
