"Another lady ran up beside me to help block the door," Evelyn wrote. "[The] suspect then turned around and swung her left hand across my face, striking my right eye, causing it to get blurry."
Fortunately, the violence stopped there. Troopers with the Pennsylvania State Police had just arrived on the scene and they took Lubenski into custody without incident. However, Lubenski's story does not end there.
According to the October 3, 2007, edition of The Albion News, Lubenski had a previous criminal record and was on probation. When the state police discovered this, they decided to transport Lubenski to the Erie County jail for violation of her probation. By this time, Lubenski had caught her breath, and the gears in her criminal mastermind were beginning to turn once again.

"As Lubenski was taken out of the state police barracks, she took off running while she was still in handcuffs," the news article reads. "Lubenski was caught in a field by Trooper Lon Pierce, after a brief chase."
