BARTOW, Fla. (Crime Library) — Although 15-year-old Alyssa Frank has been found alive and seemingly unharmed, a nationwide manhunt is still underway for 46-year-old William Joe "Billy Mitch" Mitchell, a convicted sex offender with a violent past who lured Alyssa away from her home earlier this week.

Alyssa's online writings provide some insight into why Mitchell chose her. In her Testriffic.com profile, she wrote this about herself:

"Well I'm 15, I shall be a maggot until the day I die and no one can change that! Umm I can be really crazy at times, some of my friends say that I'm bipolar because I will be happy one moment, then screaming my head off the next. [It's] really kinda crazy to think about but it might be true! But when I'm not acting all wierdish I'm actually able to be there for my friends. When they need me, I'm the one they always come to with their problems and I can always seem to make them feel better about themselves."

In this case, it is apparent that Mitchell took full advantage of the difficult period Alyssa was going through in her life.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd warned parents about the dangers of sexual predators on the Internet.

"It's important for everyone to recognize at this junction that this is what predators and pedophiles do best. They groom the children. They have a lot of personality. They have charisma. They convince these very young girls or boys that this conduct's ok, and then children do something they normally may not be predisposed to do."
