ROMULUS, Mich. (Crime Library) — Autopsy results on the burned body of a small, African American female discovered last week in Romulus have thus far not yielded any conclusive results linking her to missing Detroit 7-year-old Raven Jeffries, authorities said.

Authorities later today are expected to scour the results of several tests conducted on the remains — over the past several days authorities have used dental records and DNA samples taken from the missing child's home — but so far, they have been unable to positively identify the remains.

The body was discovered last Monday morning in a trash-strewn lot off Henry Ruff Road by a radio technician there to do maintenance on a radio tower. Within minutes of the find, teams of investigators, including homicide detectives, descended on the scene to search for clues. Like the missing Detroit child, the remains appeared to have been just over 4 feet tall and appeared to have been wearing braids in her hair, authorities have said. Authorities have also confirmed that the body appeared to be clad in the remnants of clothing similar to those worn by Raven when she vanished Aug. 3 while playing outside her family's west side home.

In the 10 days since, her family has maintained a desperate vigil, plastering the area around her home with fliers, and authorities from several police agencies, including the Detroit police and detectives from Romulus, have joined the hunt.
