Regardless of her reasons, the couple's marriage was already rocky, at best, and in 1997, they divorced.

Within a year, Paige met Rob Dixon, a wealthy patron of the strip club, and not long thereafter, the couple ran off to Las Vegas and married.  Afterwards, they purchased a lavish home in Grand Junction.  However, court records indicate the romance was, at times, more turbulent than not.

In October of 2005, Dixon allegedly assaulted Paige, slapping and punching her, as she held their newborn infant in her arms.  Dixon was initially charged with assault and child abuse, but he later pled the charges down to harassment.  The following year, Dixon filed for bankruptcy, and the couple divorced.  A judge later granted Paige custody of their three children.

In recent months, Paige and Biegler began to rekindle their relationship, and on the night of June 28, the two met in Eagle.  According to Biegler, the rendezvous went well, and he spoke briefly with her around 9 p.m., as she drove through a construction detour in the suburbs north of Grand Junction.  Paige promised to call again when she arrived home, but the call never came, and for all intents and purposes, Biegler is the last person to have spoken with her.

Looking back at Paige's postings to the message board at ChefSuccess.com, there is one post she made on March 24, 2007, that stands out amongst the others:

03-24-2007, 07:03 p.m.

Oh, man! My children would ask me if Dad was going to kill me. I can't imagine what they were thinking life would be like after he killed me. Thank God he is far, far away! I would gladly sacrifice every penny of child support if he would stay away!
