(Continued)

Rodriguez and Benitez had legally emigrated from Sensuntepeque, El Salvador, several years ago. Last week, family members from there traveled to the United States to claim the bodies. Yesterday, they arrived for burial in the family's Salvadoran hometown.

Pedro's parents, Rosa and Pedro Rodriguez, were devastated, and when the children's coffins were unloaded, they broke down in tears.

"This is the saddest moment of my life," Rosa said. "Thank God the bodies are finally here and will get a Christian burial."

Since Benitez's disappearance, authorities have distributed missing person's posters, issued U.S. border alerts, and searched recent airline passenger lists.  In spite of their efforts, they have been unable to find Benitez.

Benitez's mother, Maria Quinteros, does not believe her daughter should be considered a suspect in the case. "I don't think she could have committed such a horrendous thing," Quinteros said. "If they can't find her, it's because she's also dead."

Anyone with information concerning this case should contact the Frederick Police Department at (301) 600-2100.
