Someone putting Wade Lurk's name into a search engine before he disappeared would have found results mostly related to the young man's successes:

- Second quarter honors student, posted on the Valle High School website in January, 2006

- A cached page found on Google showed Lurk as an inductee into the National Honor Society in 2004

- February, 2006 Rotary Club Student of the Month.

Wade Lurk's personal profile can be found at www.myspace.com/warrior_89_06. More evidence of Lurk being social, not isolated from his peers, can be seen in Wade having 200+ people in his "friends" section. By April 2^nd, worried messages from friends began to fill Wade's own comments.

At 10:21 a.m. on that day, a friend named Lauren posted, in part, "Wade where are you??? Please come back I miss you so much don't do this to us... I'm so worried about you!!"

Three days later the messages were more urgent, like the following left by a friend of Wade's named Kelsey:

"Wade! If you get this PLEASE come home!! We all miss you so much!! Nothing's the same without you herewe miss you so much!! We all need you here now and so does your family. I know I'll see you soon ... We are all praying for you! Come back soon please!!!"

Wade Lurk and his friends held conversations of a sort by trading comments on each others' profiles.

An example was the following exchange between Lurk and a friend named Marysa about a misunderstanding they had when a mutual friend named David joked with her that he would 'check his schedule' when Marysa invited him to prom:

"Oh noooo wade. You took me totally wrong. I was never mad about him saying he had to check at all. I think he took it wrong too. I wasn't mad at all ( ...) I'm sorry that upset you ..."

"Hey yea I understand it's just all part of livin' in Ste. Gen I think and people just need somethin' to talk about..."

(Marysa) 3/28/20068:09 PM

"They always pick someone who's totally innocent of everything too. I HATE IT."

In the days before he disappeared Wade Lurk was casually mentioning a get-together at Goose Creekto other friends. He invited a friend named Alyson via her comments on March 30^th, " ...This weekend I think we're gonna see if we can go out to a friend's lot in Goose Creek( ...) Got any plans ...?"
