Police have asked Grant to submit to a polygraph and have also asked for access to his wife's computer.  His attorney has said his client will not take a polygraph for the sheriff's department, but that his client would consider taking one for a third party.  As of this writing, Grant has not allowed access to his wife's computer.  In terms of why he waited five days to report his wife missing, Griem told the Free Press that his client "believed that the reason she wasn't calling was because of the words they had."

When asked if she thought her brother-in-law was fully cooperating with authorities, Standerfer had this to say:

"As of right now he has hired an attorney and anything and everything that gets communicated has to go through his lawyer.  Cooperating or not, everything has to go through the lawyer at this point in time, so, in my mind, that is on the verge of not cooperating."
