(Continued)

This past month, investigators served two search warrants on Jephson's jail cell at the Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center.  According to court documents, several items were seized, including a Bible, a plastic bag and a letter he wrote to an unidentified woman.

Court documents also reveal the context of several telephone conversations Jephson had with the same woman this past December.  During one of the conversations, the woman asked Jephson if he preferred life in prison to the death penalty.  Jephson said he would rather die, because he did not want to live the rest of his life knowing what he did.

Investigators have not yet commented on a motive in the murders; however, friends and family believe Jephson committed the murders because he was angry with Amanda for breaking up with him.

Jephson is being held without bond.  In the event that he is convicted of the charges against him, he could be subject to the death penalty.  He is scheduled to appear in court again on March 5.
