Friends Mourn Brandi's Death in the Real World and the Blogosphere
Though details remain scarce, Ross Guidotti a reporter for KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh told me that there might be more to this story. Brandi and Scott were young, and her parents were affluent enough to winter in California. The young couple, it seemed, were comfortable with surfing the worldwide web.
Brandi and Scott Dunn both had personal profiles posted at myspace.com. At this writing, both profiles are either locked or have been removed, as Pennsylvania authorities are actively studying the web pages as part of their investigation.
Among those snippets of information that do linger is a profile that appears to have been posted by a mutual friend of the Dunns, named Chris. It was originally a profile to promote his love of the Pittsburgh Steelers, the pro-football team whose fandom in that region of Pennsylvania is widespread and passionate. But after Brandi's death, the profile was re-titled "Heartbroken."
A comment from a friend with the screen name "livinlife" on "Heartbroken," made on January 17, sums up many comments that made their way onto Brandi Dunn's profile before it was removed from public view:
"I still cannot believe what happened to Brandi. This was not something I ever imagined and I hope and pray to God every day and night that they find out who did this and they suffer severly (sic)..."
