Psychics Arrested
Gina Marie Marks
Gina Marie Marks
Serial psychic scammer Gina Marie Marks was already on probation after pleading no contest to grand theft when she was arrested in October 2010, on charges of grand theft, organized fraud, and violating her probation. In a familiar scheme, Marks took victims' money, often their entire savings, promising to rid it of evil and then return it. One victim gave her thousands of dollars in gift cards because Marks convinced her it would prevent her father from suffering a heart attack. The South Florida mother of three has used multiple pseudonyms, including Regina Milbourne, under which she co-wrote a tell-all book titled Miami Psychic: Confessions of a Confidante. Marks was sentenced to 18 months in prison, reduced from an original sentence of up to four years. To lessen her prison time, Marks' family had to sell possessions and empty their accounts to come up with restitution money.
