Black Madam
Padge Victoria Windslowe of Philadelphia, 42, aka Black Madam, was arrested on February 29, 2012, after a woman who received an illegal butt injection from the aspiring transgender hip-hop artist nearly died as a result. The victim, 23, received the injection at a "pumping party" on February 19 and was hospitalized two days later coughing up blood and complaining of difficulty breathing. She was later diagnosed with pneumonia and a pulmonary embolism.
Lt. John Walker of the Southwest Detective Division told reporters that this case was similar to the case of Claudia Seye Aderotimi, a British woman who died from a butt injection received from Windslowe on February 7, 2011, at an airport hotel. "What allegedly happened is Padge Victoria injected her, hit a blood vessel; the substance entered her bloodstream, goes through [and] lands in her lungs," Walker said. Though Windslowe was a person of interest Aderotimi's death, police, who were awaiting toxicology results on the injected substance, did not hold her.
Most recently, investigators began surveillance of Windslowe after learning the date and location of her next planned "pumping party". Fifteen minutes after she arrived, police searched the residence and found needles, superglue, paper towels, a water bottle and an unknown substance, presumably to be injected. No one who attended that party was injected. Windslowe's "treatments" usually cost about $700-$1800, cash only. She now faces charges of criminal conspiracy, aggravated assault, theft by deception, deceptive business practices, possession of an instrument of crime, simple assault and reckless endangerment of another person. No charges have been filed in the Aderotimi case.
