NOTORIOUS MURDERS > DEATH IN THE FAMILY

Two in a Million

Freedom

Many wondered where Jesus Christ was in Dana's life back in 1992 and, later, in 1998, during his trial? After all, if one believed the prosecution, Dana had set up the murders of his family on one of the most holiest and pious weekends of the year: Easter.

How Christian was that?

On his pen pal page, Dana says, in other people he is looking for four attributes that his life now revolves around: "honesty, integrity, determination, and staying positive and hopeful are all very important qualities to me."

In explaining what happened to his family and the trial that followed, Dana says, "In 1998, my whole world was turned upside down when I was sent to prison to fight for my freedom on appeal. Born and raised in central California, I have always been the perfectionist, overachiever type. Enjoying school and a good challenge, I grew up around airplanes and learned how to fly aircraft/helicopters during college. My whole life was focused on a career in business and investments from a very early age."

It's quite odd that the guy lost his entire family yet he is still, ten years later, focused on himself. Nowhere in this open letter to possible future pen pals does Dana talk about missing his family. About what his sister could have been today if she was still alive. What his father would be doing. What mom would be up to. Grandchildren. Weddings. Polo matches with the kids.

None of that plays into the "new" person Dana has become.

Selfish still.
