NOTORIOUS MURDERS > DEATH IN THE FAMILY

Two in a Million

Money, Money, Money, Mon ... nay

The Fresno County sheriff's investigation, he got into by midmorning, was "biased and bordered on harassment ..."

Dana's friend, Jack Ponce, however, was the witness Kinney wanted to sink his claws into and expose for the charlatan he believed him to be.

For the first time, Kinney gave jurors a comprehensive reason to believe that Jack Ponce and Joel Radovcich could have set the murders up themselves, without Dana's involvement. As far-fetched as it sounded, if you could believe the DA's theory, Kinney seemed to intimate, you had to believe his.

It was all about money, said Kinney.

"Jack Ponce told everyone there was a safe there in the house ... he said Joel told him there was a safe there, and this guy's a millionaire."

Ponce. Ponce. Ponce.

Dana had no reason to want his family dead, Kinney insisted.

None whatsoever.

But Jack Ponce and Joel Radovcich did—and they committed the crimes by themselves.

What an argument.

Weak. Shallow.
