Husband, family and friends, joined probe

In the days following her disappearance, her husband, who reported her missing cooperated "fully" with investigators, and authorities also maintained contact with other family members and several of her friends.

While they held out hope that she would be found alive and safe, searchers were troubled that Brenna had not made contact with anyone since she stormed out of her husband's car. "There's been no contact with the girl at all from anywhere," Dale Roberts, a senior investigator for the Lewis County Sheriff's Department, told Crime Library in an interview just hours before Brenna's body was found. "We've reached out to several — several — friends and they've reached out to friends, and nothing."

Published reports had indicated that authorities suspected that Moore, a petite and pretty young woman with straight, shoulder-length black hair, might have struck out for her parents' home in Averill Park, N.Y, a suburb of Albany some 157 miles away. But earlier today, Roberts dismissed that. "That's not true," said Roberts. "We don't have any idea where she is, nor do we have any idea where she's headed."

Investigators are still piecing together the details of her death, and while no final determination has yet been made, preliminary evidence suggests that her death may have been accidental, authorities said.
