The officer was able to diffuse the situation and Vehle declined to press charges. Nonnie then agreed to make arrangements with the police to have her belongings picked up at a later date.
Nonnie's friends say the break up with Vehle devastated her. She was deeply in love with him and his decision to leave her over the pregnancy literally broke her heart. This pain is quite evident in reading a blog posting she made to her MySpace profile on August 20, 2006.

Under the title, "Ode to the Nice Girls: This rant was written because a nice girl finally snapped," she wrote:
"This is my tribute to the nice girls...This is for the girls who have allowed a guy into their head and heart and bed, only to discover that he's just not ready, he's just not over her, he's just not looking to be tied down; this is for the girls who believe the excuses because it's easier to believe that it's not that they don't want you, it's that they don't want anyone...
"This is for the girls who have had their hearts broken and their hopes dashed by someone too cavalier to have cared in the first place...This is for the girls who have been used and abused, who have endured what he was giving because at least he was giving something...for the girls who don't think that they deserve more, because they've been conditioned for so long to accept the scraps thrown to them by guys...
"We nice girls are everywhere. But you're not looking for a nice girl...you're looking for a quick fix, a night when you can pretend to have a connection with another human being which is just as disposable as the condom you were using during it..."
After her break up with Vehle, it took Nonnie nearly a year before she felt comfortable dating again. Over the last few days several of her friends have mentioned how she had problems with a personal ad she had on Yahoo, however none of them would elaborate on what types of problems she was having. Last night I finally received a message from a friend of hers who was able to shed some light on those rumors. According to this person, Nonnie had a bad experience involving a traveling salesman she met through a personal ad she had on Yahoo. This is supposedly the last person she is known to have dated.
